Thanksgiving Camping 2011

Just got back from our camping trip to Hillsborough River State Park. One of the highlights of the vacation was a 2 hour canoe trip down the river. We saw lots of wildlife including gators. Devin did a great job on the whole trip taking pictures.

Memorial Day Camping

Went camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness this weekend, and actually went to the park this time. Magic Kingdom was running extended hours so we took advantage of that to avoid the holiday crowds. We also hung out at Animal Kingdom Lodge, using their pool and later having dinner at the buffet. They have what they call 'savannas' there, with all kinds of African animals, so we got to see Giraffes, Zebras, Ostriches and and bunch of other stuff.

Easter Camping at Fort Wilderness

Just got back from a long weekend camping at Disney's Fort Wilderness. The weather was perfect, and everyone had lots of fun riding bikes, swimming, driving the golf cart and riding the mono-rail around the park.

Camping Spring Break

We bought a used Pop-up camper and hit Long Point Park for Spring Break. Unfortunately so did the Thunderstorms. Danny and I were the only ones brave enough to stay and weather the storm, and it turned out that was a good move by everyone else because the storms hit hard and left us wondering if the little camper was going to get blown over or not.

Kids and Dogs

St. Sebastian State Park

We went hiking today at this nice park just 30 minutes South of us. There was lots of wide open space so we let the dogs run without their leashes and they had a blast.

Tennessee Mountains

Just got back from our Thanksgiving vacation in the mountains of Tennessee. The ATV's were a big hit. We rode them every day except Friday, when we went to Dollywood.

Labor Day Weekend 2009

We spent the night on the boat over the holiday weekend. It was HOT, HOT, HOT. We'll have to bring the generator so we can run the A/C next time. Found a great place to anchor though that was away from the Labor Day crowds, with nice calm deep water.

Danny caught a ladyfish that threw the hook when it jumped out of the water and Derek made a new friend with wiskers that liked to have his belly scratched.

The canoe trip was fun but the kids still need some help on the 'working as a team' concept in order to go in a straight line. Lisa and I did fine.
